CG Questions, 5.10.20 

 

1. How do you find yourself dealing with the uncertainty of the future during this COVID crisis? 

 

2. What disappointment, sin struggle or pain from the past do you sense God wanting you to face and get through at this present time? How will you invite God and others into this process with you? 

 

3. ‘An idol is anything that means more to you than God, anything that absorbs your heart and imagination more than God, anything you seek to give you only what God can give. Anything so central and essential to your life, that should you lose it – life would not be worth living.’ 

What immediately comes to mind when you hear this quote?  

God reveals these idols not to condemn us, but to bring us to a greater place of freedom. What practical steps could you take this week to step away from any idols you’re holding on to and reposition your heart fully towards God? 

OR 

When you hear this quote, talk about the idols God has delivered you from. How did He do this? Who walked with you through the process? How do you keep your heart free from these things? 

 

4. Think about the times in your life you’ve seen and experienced the hand of God. These are your stones of remembrance. Take a few moments and share one or two with the group. End the group with a time of prayer and thanksgiving for God’s faithful care.
