What was one thing that you most agreed with or disagreed with from the sermon on Sunday?
Talk about a time you experienced a “thunderstorm” in your life, that is a circumstance that threw your plans off? How did you handle that unexpected event?
In his sermon, Justin talked about Nehemiah’s enemies, Sanballat and Tobiah, coming against him and mocking his dream. He compared them to the internal enemies we face in life that will attack our mind. What is your most common inner dialogue struggle? From this sermon, what is one practical step you will take this week to change that inner dialogue?
To thrive in and overcome opposition, we need both a sword of dependence and a shovel of diligence. Which area are your more prone to lean towards- diligence or dependence? What is a step you can take to strengthen the weaker area?
Justin shared how we need to “post a guard” at the gap in our life. This gap could be a variety of things- an addiction, an unhealthy relationship, an area of weakness that causes sin in your life. Break up into groups of 2 or 3 and discuss the following questions:
What is the one gap you are currently facing? What is one action step you will take this week cover that gap? Pray for one another, and talk about how you can encourage each other in those action steps.
