Question Detail

He Is :: CG Questions :: Part 7

Jesus says that He is the TRUE vine. This points to the fact that there are many distracting vines besides Him.

  1. Where are you seeking things that have potential, but not ultimate fulfillment?

  2. Forgetfulness: Don’t lose sight of who Christ is to you.  Have there been times in your life when you’ve allowed your heart to wander from Christ being your supreme source? How has this impacted you?

  3. Talk about seasons of “pruning” in your life. Where do you see the fruit from pruning in your life? Do you see growth from 3 months ago? Six months ago? Take a few minutes and write out the areas where God’s pruning has caused growth. If you do not feel that you have evidence of this, write down 3 areas where you’d like to see God grow you in the next 3 months.

  4. Justin reminds us that if you harbor a sense of self sufficiency in any area, it will rob you of your connection, and a lack of connection will rob you of all fruitfulness.   Are there areas in your life where you feel like you rely on your own strength and abilities instead of leaning in fully to Christ who bestowed all ability to you? If you gave all credit to Christ, what would shift in your life?

Prayer time: Being aware of the four enemies from Justin's sermon helps us to silence them.  Break off into smaller groups to pray for one another.  Pray for the revelation of Christ's victory on the cross to help you silence the enemies in your life.
