CG Questions :: Finding Colossus :: Part 2

  1. Justin shared with us in the beginning of the sermon that he is not a fan of puzzles. He used the example of the Rubik’s cube. Are you a fan of puzzles or games? Which is your favorite? Share with the group which you like and why you like it.

  2. Justin shared a story of being at CVS and waiting in line as frustrations were rising and he felt the struggle between warring emotions, then he hears a voice call his name, “Pastor Justin?” Has a similar situation like this ever happened to you? Would you share this with your group?

  3. In Romans 7:15 Paul states, “For I do not understand my own actions.” Justin used the illustration of the Disney movie “Inside Out” or the movie “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” as the inconsistency that we all experience as the wrestling that Paul is referring to. How do you relate to Paul’s experience in your own walk of faith? Discuss this with your group.

  4. Justin shared with us that Paul sheds light on the struggle in Romans 7:24-25, that we must own our brokenness and forsake self-salvation—start praising before the breakthrough comes! That God’s acceptance now releases the power to change. Discuss how this differs from behavior modification. How will you challenge yourself to remember the trust that “there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” this week? What change in your thinking needs to take place?
