Thank you so much for your interest in being a part of a future disaster response team. Hurricane Helene made landfall with 140-mph winds along Florida’s Big Bend region late on Thursday, Sept. 27. It is the strongest hurricane—a Category 4—to hit this area in recorded history. Less than two weeks later, Hurricane Milton made landfall as a Category 3 storm sweeping across the Florida peninsula Oct. 9 where it toppled trees and caused wind and flood damage to homes.

Our church is currently partnering with Samaritan's Purse for the restoration efforts in this region and will be looking to send multiple teams across the next year at minimum. Volunteers could be assigned to projects involving debris clean-up, tree work, roof tarping, mudouts, and eventually rebuild and restoration of homes. Volunteers do not need any skills or previous construction experience, although if you do have those skills, please indicate that below as they are always helpful to have.
