Text: Acts 10
1. What is a process you have had to go through in your life that you would love to expedite? (For example: DMV’s)
2. Growing up, what patterns did you see in your family that led you away or toward a relationship with Jesus? How have those patterns informed your spiritual growth process toward loving other people like Jesus does?
Justin talked about three steps to building bridges to one another:
- Step 1 – God leads us through inner confusion. Through this process God exposes our underlying assumptions about others.
- Step 2 – God connects us with an unlikely relationship. We see God more accurately through the experience of others.
- Step 3 – God reveals to us a new perspective. We are united through our brokenness. The people of God should be marked by an unlikely pairing, a growing community.
3. As you think through these steps, share something that stood out to you as Justin talked about the unlikely relationship of Peter and Cornelius in Acts 10.
4. Share a practical application step you will take this week as a result. How do you think that step will impact your everyday life?
Take some time together and thank Jesus for entering into this process with us, giving us grace, and for showing us the way to love like He did. As you pray together, invite God to lead you through each step with wisdom, grace, and ultimately love!
