Text: Psalm 40:1, Proverbs 13:12

1. What is something that the Lord impressed on your heart from the sermon this week?

2. Co-Founder of Love146, Rob Morris, mentioned that as he gets older hope gets stronger in him. Is that true for you? Why/why not?

3. Deferred hope is hope that has been delayed or postponed. What is something in the past, or currently, that have you hoped for that has been deferred?

4. Defiant hope is hope that causes action, pushing back against despair, cynicism, and growing darkness. Talk about someone you know that lives as a defiant hope trailblazer. Explain why. How does defiant hope apply to your answer to #3?

5. An “archegos” was a person in ancient Greece who, in a storm, would dive into the water while holding a rope, swim to shore, and tie it to a tree or boulder. This would create a lifeline to save the people on the boat. Look up Acts 3:15, Acts 5:31, Hebrews 2:10 & 12:2 and talk about how Jesus is our “archegos” and what that means for us and for those in need.

Break up into groups of 3-4 and pray for the vision of Love146 - “The end of child trafficking and exploitation. Nothing less.”

For Further Study: Look up Hebrews 4:14-16, 6:19-20. How do these verses give comfort when your life feels shipwrecked or in the midst of a strengthening storm? Talk about how defiant hope is a strong testimony of Jesus and how others will see it and be strengthened and encouraged.
