Text: Genesis 15:1-18
1. Justin shared a story of being uncomfortable "in the wild". Have you ever experienced a similar situation? Share your story. What made you uncomfortable? How did it pan out?
2. In your own words, define the "cubical mindset". In what areas of your life has the cubical mindset crept in? How do you typically respond when things happen outside of your control?
3. Talk about a time when something unexpected happened and it turned out to be the hand of God at work.
Look up and read these verses together: Psalm 27:14, Isaiah 40:31, Lamentations 3:25, Psalm 33:20-22, and James 5:7-8.
4. Abraham waited 10 years for God's promise of a baby. All of us have waited on God for something. Reflecting back on that time in the wild, did the waiting increase or decrease your faith? Why?
Split up into groups of 3 or 4 and share with your group anything you are currently waiting on the Lord for. Pray for patience and faith in the waiting.
