8 weeks of scripture and truth to memorize as a family

      WEEK 1 GOD’S LOVE

        Scripture:

        All Ages: “God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son. For anyone who believes in him will have         eternal life.” (John 3:16 NIRV)

        Preschool: “God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only son.” (John 3:16)

        Question 1: How do we know God loves us?

        John 3:16 teaches us that God showed us his love by sending his son, Jesus, to die so that we can be saved.

       

      WEEK 2 THE PRICE OF SIN

        Scripture:

        All Ages: “The payment for sin is death but God sent his son Jesus to die so that we can live.” (Romans 6:23 ICB)

        Preschool: “The punishment for sin is death but God gives us life forever in Jesus.” (Romans 6:23)

        Question 2: How did God save us from sin?

        Romans 6:23 teaches us that sin separated us from Him, but because of His great love He sent Jesus from above         to save us, He saves us.

        

      WEEK 3 SALVATION

        Scripture:

        All Ages: “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the         dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9 NIV)

        Preschool: “Believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead.” (Romans 10:9)

        Question 3: How can we be with God forever?

        Romans 10:9 teaches us that when we accept that Jesus is Lord we are saved and believe in our hearts that he         died and rose again.


        WEEK 4 GREATEST COMMANDMENTS

        Scripture:

        All Ages: “Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’         This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your         neighbor as yourself.’”         (Matthew 22:37-39 NIV)

        Preschool: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ And ‘Love         your neighbor as yourself.’” (Matthew 22:37-39 NIV)

        Question 4: What does Jesus say are the two greatest commandments?

        Matthew 22:37–39 teaches us that Jesus says love God and people.

 

WEEK 5 JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY – SONG

        Scripture:

        All Ages: “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through         me.’” (John 14:6 NIRV)

        Preschool: “Jesus said, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No gets to God except through me.’” (John 14:6         NIRV)

        Question 5: Can we get to heaven without Jesus?

        John 14:6 teaches us that the only way to eternal life in heaven is through faith in Jesus.


        WEEK 6 GOD WITH US

        Scripture:

        All Ages: “Remember I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20)

        Preschool: “Remember I am with you always.” (Matthew 28:20)

        Question 6: What does Jesus want to remember?

        Matthew 28:20 teaches us that Jesus is always with us.


        WEEK 7 FEAR

        Scripture:

        All Ages: “Don’t worry about anything. No matter what happens, tell God about everything. Ask and pray, and         give thanks to him.” Philippians 4:6

        Preschool: “Don’t worry about anything. Instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for         all he has done.” Philippians 4:6

        Question 7: What can we do when we are afraid?

        Philippians 4:6 teaches us that we should pray to God and ask for what we need with a thankful heart.


      WEEK 8 MEMORIZING SCRIPTURE

        Scripture:

        All Ages: “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” Psalm 119:11

        Preschool: “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” Psalm 119:11

        Question 8: Why should we memorize Scripture?

        Psalm 119:1 teaches us that memorizing God’s Word protects our hearts from sinning so that we can do our best         job to love God and people.
