About The Special Needs Ministry

The Vox Church Special Needs Ministry exists to provide a welcoming, safe, and accessible environment for individuals of all ages and abilities to be included as full participants in the life and community of the church as they grow in the wonder of the gospel and authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our Mission

Statistics show that 50% of special needs families are not able to participate in church or church activities due to limited or no programming available for those with special needs. Through intentional planning, communication, and resources, we aim to provide inclusive support for individuals with special needs and their family members. Our mission is to provide individuals with disabilities and their families access to opportunities for spiritual investment, discipleship, and community.

Night To Shine

Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs, ages 14 and older. We are blessed to be a part of this growing worldwide movement through the local church where thousands of people with special needs will be celebrated, given the royal treatment and reminded of God’s love for them!

Buddy Program

Our buddy program provides a child with special needs one-on-one care with a trained individual so they can better participate in the VoxKids program.

A buddy helps to make the program more accessible and removes barriers that might otherwise keep someone from participating in church life. We focus on each individual’s ability—not their disability. Not every person with a disability will need a buddy, nor will every buddy provide the exact same support. Buddies provide individualized support that is as unique as the individual they are serving.

The Buddy Program is currently being piloted at our New Haven location. If you are interested in requesting a buddy for your child or finding out more information on becoming a buddy, please contact our Special Needs Director at the information below, and someone will get back to you.
