Local Outreach

New Haven

Bringing hope and help to our cities.

We believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ changes everything and can transform people, families, neighborhoods, and communities. By connecting with local organizations and intentionally loving our neighbors, we desire to mobilize our church towards meeting some of the greatest needs in our community and sharing the hope we have in Jesus.

Focus Areas

Focusing our efforts to see greater impact in our city.

Education

Learn More

In Greater New Haven, more than two-thirds of students are not reading at grade level. We believe that God has called us to mentor and raise up the next generation in our city.

Initiatives:

      ·Bridges of Hope Mentoring Program

·After school programming at local shelters

·Building partnership and supporting efforts at New Haven Public Schools

Homelessness

Learn More

1 in 4 residents in New Haven live at or below the poverty line. We want to be a part of the city’s efforts towards affordable housing and holistic efforts to create pathways and opportunities to build self-reliant lives for all residents.

Initiatives:

·Partnering with transitional housing shelters in the city

·Using the assets and skills of our church members to mentor and provide services at the shelters

Food Insecurity

Learn More

The New Haven food insecurity rate (22%) is twice the national average. We want to be a part of the solution by mobilizing people to serve and support programs supplying food to those who need it most.

Initiatives:

·Supporting food rescue initiatives through Haven’s Harvest

·Serving meals to the homeless through Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen

·Helping schools meet the gaps in food service for students
